Mentorship to me is not only about - 1. Helping people 2. Guiding them 3. Sharing experiences I have mentored a lot of people informally from Linkedin and have realized that, most of the times – People are aware of all solutions and they just want to validate their thought process in structured way. Mentorship is to me is more about - Structuring the thought process of my mentees and de-cluttering their minds. It is more about what you don’t need to do over what do you need to do. I can help people identify what do you don’t need to do and that will help in de-cluttering their thoughts on what they need to do (Reference from a top seller book Starting with WHY – Book by Simon Sinek) Being a Process & Strategy consultant, one of my prime responsibilities is to explain problems to my customers in a simplified way and I can apply those simple frameworks in normal life situations and that encourages me to be a mentor. Firstly, I will have to build professional trust of my prospective mentees and I can do so by just being myself when I talk to them.
