Hello Ganesh,
Congratulations on your graduation and for having the courage to pursue a career that aligns with your goals and interests.
It's great to hear about your proficiency in C++, Python, Java, and Data Structures and Algorithms (DSA).
These skills are highly valuable in the software industry. Here are some suggestions that might help you in your job search:
- Enhance Your Online Presence: Make sure your LinkedIn profile is up-to-date and showcases your skills, projects, and any internships or relevant experiences. Participate in relevant groups and engage with content in your field.
- Build a Portfolio: Create a portfolio of projects that demonstrate your skills. This could be through GitHub or a personal website. Include diverse projects that showcase your proficiency in different areas.
- Network Effectively: Networking is key. Connect with alumni from NIT Trichy who are working in the software industry. Attend industry webinars, workshops, and conferences, either virtually or in person, to expand your network.
- Tailor Your Applications: Customize your resume and cover letter for each application to highlight how your skills and experiences align with the job requirements.
- Practice for Interviews: Companies often focus on technical and problem-solving skills in their interviews. Practice coding problems on platforms like LeetCode, HackerRank, or CodeSignal. Also, prepare for behavioural interviews.
- Consider Internships or Contract Roles: Sometimes, starting with an internship or a contract position can lead to full-time opportunities. These roles can also provide valuable experience and networking opportunities.
- Explore Startups: Apart from big tech companies, consider applying to startups. These environments often offer rapid learning and growth opportunities.
- Feedback and Learning: If you get rejections, don’t hesitate to ask for feedback. Use this as a learning opportunity to improve your future applications.
- Continuous Learning: Keep up with the latest trends and technologies in software development. Online courses, certifications, and personal projects can demonstrate your commitment to continuous learning.
- Stay Positive and Persistent: Job searching can be a marathon, not a sprint. Stay positive, and don’t get discouraged by rejections. Each application is a step closer to finding the right opportunity.
Remember, finding the right job takes time and patience. Your skills and determination will lead you to a role that aligns with your career aspirations. Best of luck!
