Answered By Mentor Varsha Alladi
Hey Praveen M,
In the tech field, the right certifications and online courses can really help you stand out, especially when your college or background doesn’t give you a strong push. Here are some high-impact options based on different goals:
🔹 If you’re into Software Development:
▪️ CS50x by Harvard (edX) – Strong foundation in programming
▪️ Meta Front-End or Back-End Certificate (Coursera)
▪️ Google Android/Kotlin Developer Certification
🔹 If you want to become a Data Scientist / ML Engineer:
▪️ IBM Data Science Professional Certificate (Coursera)
▪️ DeepLearning.AI – Machine Learning Specialization
▪️ Microsoft Azure AI Fundamentals
🔹 If you're thinking Cybersecurity:
▪️ Google Cybersecurity Certificate (Coursera)
▪️ CompTIA Security+
▪️ ISC2 Certified in Cybersecurity (free for students)
🔹 For Cloud & DevOps roles:
▪️ AWS Cloud Practitioner / Azure Fundamentals
▪️ Docker & Kubernetes courses on Udemy
▪️ Google Cloud Digital Leader
🔹 If Product Management or Tech Strategy interests you:
▪️ Google Project Management Certificate
▪️ Product School’s Free Product Management Course
▪️ LinkedIn Learning – Strategy & Business Analytics Courses
The real trick is not just taking courses—but knowing how to position them on your LinkedIn, GitHub, and Resume. And that's where personal guidance really helps.

Hi Parveen,
Very good question to have in the early years of your career.
First of all I recommend dont spam your profile with udemy /linkedin certifications.
- Do the ones that are related to your field (backend/frontend/analysis/AI) or t
- Do the ones that you plan to make a part of your career in near future (AI/ CI-CD/ Management).
Certifications are usually underrated because either people do irrelevant ones or they dont do at all.
Do less but effective ones only and it will make a highlight of your resume.
