For becoming a stand out Data Scientist, there are certain hard skills and soft skills one must master. The specific hard skills to learn are programming skills (in either Python, Java, R or C++), Machine Learning Algorithms (key part of Data Science as these algorithms help us to build models that can make futuristic predictions based on datasets), Deep Learning, Data Visualization tools to present findings as dashboards (Tableau, Power BI, or QlikView), a strong foundation in Mathematics (Linear Algebra, Probability, Statistics and Calculus), niches like Natural Language Processing, Computer Vision and finally, knowing Model Deployment skills which leverages Cloud technologies is a plus. Asking the right set of questions, analyzing and preprocessing datasets, making apt decisions and problem solving are few other crucial skills for a Data Scientist.
