Hi Manasa,

First of all FAANG are not the only Product companies out there.

Secondly, read about what are GCC in IT companies.

Now, after that you will know the difference, If you want to go towards FAANG and similar companies..DSA is important

But, If you want to get into Product based companies basic DSA would work and you mentioned decent DEV skills..then I can help you with that.

Same situation I had faced during my company switch, so having better outlook and how the things work.

Also, you are using JAVA, am into same Tech so you can consider joining mentorship program..

Thank You

Hello Manasa,

First of all, great to hear that you're already practicing DSA in Java and building projects — that’s the right start!

Now coming to your question — getting your resume shortlisted for product-based companies needs a mix of the right content and the right strategy. Here are a few quick tips:

▪️ Make sure your resume is ATS-friendly (no fancy designs, proper keywords)

▪️ Highlight DSA practice (LeetCode/Codeforces handles + solved count)

▪️ Showcase your projects with impact (include GitHub + LinkedIn links)

▪️ Add a strong summary section that matches the job role

▪️ Start doing cold outreach to employees or recruiters on LinkedIn

But to be honest — every candidate has a slightly different situation. That’s why I invite you to a free trial session where I’ll:

▪️ Review your resume personally

▪️ Check your LinkedIn

▪️ And help you build a customized plan to get interview calls faster

Hi Manasa,

You're a recent grad with Java + DSA skills and good projects—great start! To get interview calls from product-based companies:

  1. Tailor Your Resume: Use keywords from job descriptions, highlight projects with impact, and mention DSA stats (e.g., "Solved 300+ LeetCode problems").
  2. Get Referrals: Message 5–10 employees daily on LinkedIn with a short, polite request for referrals.
  3. Apply Smartly: Use Instahyre, CutShort, Relevel, AngelList, and target startups or mid-size product firms.

Bonus: Post weekly on LinkedIn to boost visibility.

Consistency + focus = interview calls in 30–45 days.

Great that you’re practicing DSA with Java and showcasing projects — you’re already ahead! Here’s how you can push it to the next level:

1️⃣ Keep your resume clean & keyword-matched — highlight your Java DSA + projects with clear results.

2️⃣ Don’t just apply — get referrals! Message employees on LinkedIn, ask seniors, join coding groups.

3️⃣ Showcase projects well — pin them on LinkedIn, write 2–3 lines on what problem they solve.

4️⃣ Keep coding & add ranks — mention LeetCode/contest stats if you have them.

📌 Need help?: If you’d like, book a mock resume review or call with me — I can help you tweak it for product companies & share a custom outreach message for referrals.

You’ve got this — keep going! 🚀✨
