A solid foundation in HTML and CSS is excellent; that knowledge transfers well into any front-end web development framework like React. While you may not have JavaScript or React experience yet, the concepts build upon that existing HTML/CSS knowledge.

As you learn, build small projects to apply those new skills. Some ideas are a simple weather app, a to-do list, or a photo feed. Practical experience creating web apps with React, even simple ones, will benefit transitioning roles.
