CGPA won't matter in off-campus recruitments though it matters in on-campus recruiting depending on the company. If you have good skills and strong concepts in the field you are targeting you are good to go :)

Hi RJ
CGPA is crucial for on-campus interview shortlisting, especially in tech roles. A decent CGPA can secure shortlisting, after which technical skills matter most. A strong grasp of DSA, OOPS, DBs, networks, and problem-solving is vital in interviews. Off-campus, CGPA matters less; emphasis shifts to excellent technical skills and impactful projects on the resume. Effective preparation, technical knowledge, and notable projects outweigh a low CGPA.
Remember, every step you take today brings you closer to the future you envision. Stay curious, stay dedicated, and believe in your ability to overcome any challenge. Your journey is filled with potential and endless possibilities. Keep pushing forward and never underestimate the impact of your efforts.

Hi,
In my experience your CGPA is a criteria for whether or not you will be shortlisted for a company's interview rounds for On-campus placements, it's a number that gets you through the door. This is true at least for tech interviews.
If you do not have good CGPA but its decent enough to get you shortlisted, then the actual cgpa should not affect the interview process.
Once you reach the interview stage, what matters more is your grasp on the technical concepts, like your DSA skills, your understanding of OOPS, DBs, networks and other concepts. How well you answer the interview questions and solve the problems will actually decide the outcome.
In off-campus recruitments, CGPA won't be a problem but you will still need to have good technical skills and some good hands-on projects in your resume implementing those skills to attract the attention of the recruiters.
So it all boils down to your preparation and hold on the technical concepts. It is also good to have a couple good projects in your resume so that recruiter is more interested in discussing those projects rather than focussing on the low cgpa.
