While there are so many things you can ask - about the role, about the company, culture, colleagues et al

Having been on both sides of the table, I would recommend you to try out these 9 smart questions to an interviewer. I've split them basis the question type.

1) Role/Company specific:

  • What is the biggest challenge rather opportunity that this company has and how do you think I can help with that?
    • What do successful hires accomplish in the first 60 days?
      • How do you evaluate success?
        • What are the typical qualities of top performers?
          • Can you tell me who all will be part of my team?
            • How do you think I compare with an ideal candidate for this position?

              2) Generic questions:

              • How do you describe company's culture?
                • What do you like most about working for this company?
                  • Are employees given continuous training opportunities?
