What is Preplaced long-term mentorship?

Preplaced long-term mentorship is a transformative solution for struggling working professionals and freshers who aspire to make it into a big company and achieve success in their careers.

We often find ourselves stuck in a failure loop, lacking the necessary skills and guidance to break free.

Preplaced addresses this problem through its Mentor-guided method, which is personalised, 1:1, and outcome-based.

Preplaced offers more than just interview preparation; it fosters a holistic approach to career development.

Here we can connect with top industry mentors.

These mentors are dedicated to nurturing our careers and making us job ready. 💫

How did I become a part of Preplaced mentee community?

Stuck in a dead-end job, I was feeling lost and unsure of my career path, so I turned to Google for help.

That's when I discovered Preplaced and their unique approach to mentorship.

Their long-term outcome-based mentorship caught my attention.

It wasn't just a one-time thing; it was a journey of growth and transformation. It was exactly what I needed to thrive in my career.

There was also the option to take a free 1:1 trial session with the selected mentor before committing for the long term.

Without any hesitation, I signed up and started browsing through the list of mentors.

It felt like a perfect match when I connected with Ravi, an experienced engineer at Amazon.

Right from the start, Ravi proved to be the mentor I had been searching for.

He was warm, experienced, and genuinely passionate about helping me succeed.

It was clear that he was fully committed to guiding me towards my goals.

Preplaced made everything easy and organised.

They provided the structure and support needed for our mentorship journey.

Preplaced became more than just a platform for mentorship; it became a safe space where I could openly discuss my dreams and fears.

I could ask questions, seek guidance, and find comfort in a community that believed in my potential.

Looking back, I was so grateful for that moment when I discovered Preplaced.

For me, joining Preplaced was a life-changing experience.

It taught me that sometimes when you least expect it, the universe has a way of bringing you the help you need.

What long-term meant for me and my mentor?

The idea of long-term mentorship meant a lot to both me and my mentor during our incredible six-month journey.

It was like having a trusted partner by my side, someone who was genuinely invested in my growth and success.

We weren't just in it for a quick fix; we were committed to making real progress together.

For me, long-term mentorship was all about having someone I could rely on for ongoing support and guidance.

It gave me a sense of confidence knowing that my mentor was there for the long haul, ready to help me tackle any challenges that came my way.

During our six months together, we built a strong bond. 🤝

Long-term mentorship allowed us to go beyond surface-level topics and really dive deep into all aspects of my career.

We had the time to explore things thoroughly and make sure we covered everything that mattered.

My mentor was equally enthusiastic about long-term mentorship.

He saw it as an opportunity to witness my growth firsthand and contribute to my success.

Long-term mentorship was also about open communication and continuous feedback.

We had time to get to know each other, understand our working styles, and adapt our strategies accordingly.

It created an environment where I felt comfortable asking questions, seeking advice, and sharing any concerns that popped up along the way.

Our mentorship journey was an ongoing process of learning and growth.

It wasn't a one-time thing but a transformative experience that unfolded over time.

We progressed through different stages, celebrated milestones, and adjusted our strategies as needed.

This flexibility allowed us to fine-tune our approach and make sure we were always moving in the right direction.

The long-term nature of our mentorship also meant that we could look back and appreciate the progress we made together.

It was amazing to see how far I had come, all thanks to the commitment and dedication we put into our mentorship.

The impact it had on my career was undeniable.

In a nutshell, long-term mentorship went beyond a brief encounter. It was a deeper commitment, a true partnership.

It allowed us to explore all aspects of my journey, both technical and personal.

Those six months were an incredible investment in my future.

My Long-term Mentorship Goals

My goals were crystal clear from the start.

Firstly, I aimed to clear the SDE II interview at Amazon, a dream opportunity for any aspiring engineer.

Secondly, I wanted to learn the ropes and grow into my job role seamlessly, ensuring a successful transition.

⭐ Clearing SDE II Interview at Amazon:

My first session with the mentor was an ‘Evaluation’ session.

The mentor assessed my current skillsets and knowledge.

Based on the evaluation, he suggested to me a timeline of 3 months to prepare for and crack the SDE II role at Amazon.

The 3-month roadmap that helped me clear the SDE II interview at Amazon:

🎯 Month 1: Foundation Building

  • Understand the SDE II interview process and requirements at Amazon
    • Brush up on data structures and algorithms concepts
      • Solve a variety of coding problems, focusing on Amazon's most commonly asked questions
        • Practice solving problems under time constraints to improve speed and efficiency
          • Dive into system design principles and learn how to design scalable and efficient systems

🎯 Month 2: Mock Interviews and Targeted Preparation

            • Schedule and conduct mock interviews to simulate the actual interview experience
              • Analyse feedback from mock interviews to identify areas of improvement
                • Focus on strengthening weaker areas identified during the mock interviews
                  • Deep dive into advanced topics such as object-oriented design, dynamic programming, and system architecture
                    • Continue practicing coding problems and system design exercises

🎯 Month 3: Refinement and Revision

                      • Continue solving coding problems and participating in mock interviews
                        • Revise and reinforce key data structures and algorithms concepts
                          • Review Amazon's Leadership Principles and prepare for behavioural interview questions
                            • Refine your problem-solving approach, emphasising clarity and efficiency
                              • Polish your system design skills by tackling more complex scenarios
                                • Practice expressing your thoughts clearly and concisely during interviews

Throughout the process, my mentor's expertise and guidance were invaluable.

He provided continuous support, valuable insights, and real-world experience.

With our well-planned roadmap and focused preparation, I entered the interview with confidence. And the months of hard work paid off as I applied my knowledge and skills.

Clearing the SDE II interview in three months was a big accomplishment.

It opened doors to new opportunities and boosted my confidence.

⭐ Learning the ropes and growing into the job role

Right from the start, my mentor emphasised the importance of continuous learning.

He encouraged me to dive into Amazon's internal resources, attend training sessions, and explore the technologies and tools used within the company.

Ravi’s incredible experience at Amazon became my go-to source for all things related to navigating the complexities of my new role.

He gave me insider tips on team dynamics, company culture, and how to collaborate effectively with my colleagues.

Together, we set goals to expand my knowledge and skills, aiming to not just meet but exceed the expectations of my role.

Ravi shared real-life examples, challenging me to think outside the box and come up with innovative solutions to the challenges I faced.

But it wasn't just about the technical stuff.

He helped me develop those essential soft skills too.

He showed me how to communicate effectively, manage my time wisely, and build strong professional relationships.

He taught me the value of being proactive and taking ownership of my own growth.

Our regular check-ins became my lifeline.

It was a chance to discuss any hurdles or challenges, seek advice, and reflect on my progress.

As I continue to grow in my job role, I've come to realise the incredible value of having a mentor by my side.

His unwavering support has given me the confidence to take on new projects, embrace responsibilities, and make a meaningful contribution to the team and the company.

Every day brings new opportunities to learn and evolve, and with my mentor's guidance, I know I'm in good hands.

I know I'll continue to surpass expectations, achieve new milestones, and leave a lasting impact at Amazon.

                                  Mentorship as a continuous process

Mentorship is not a one-time event; it's a continuous process that evolves and grows alongside your career.

This realisation has been a game-changer for me during my journey as a mentee.

When I first started my mentorship with Ravi, I expected that it would be a fixed period of guidance leading up to my SDE II interview at Amazon.

However, as our mentorship progressed, I quickly understood that it was much more than that.

It became a lifelong commitment to my professional growth and development.

The beauty of mentorship as a continuous process is that it adapts to the changing landscape of your career.

Ravi didn't just provide me with advice and resources for the interview preparation; he became a trusted advisor, helping me navigate challenges and seize opportunities even after I landed the job.

Our mentorship didn't stop at clearing the interview.

Ravi continued to support me as I settled into my new role at Amazon.

He shared insights into the company culture and offered guidance on career progression.

Even beyond the technical aspects, Ravi's mentorship extended to building my professional brand and enhancing my communication skills.

He emphasised the importance of networking, establishing a strong online presence, and showcasing my expertise.

This guidance has proven invaluable as I navigate my career at Amazon and beyond.

The continuous nature of mentorship is rooted in the fact that careers are dynamic and ever-evolving.

As new challenges arise, having a mentor by your side provides a sense of reassurance and guidance.

Mentorship as a continuous process also fosters a strong professional relationship.

Ravi and I have built a rapport that extends beyond our mentorship sessions.

I know I can reach out to him for advice, feedback, or simply to share exciting milestones in my career.

Having that ongoing connection has created a sense of community and support that I treasure.

As I continue to grow in my career, I now understand that mentorship is not a destination but rather a lifelong journey. It's about nurturing your potential and empowering you to thrive in every phase of your career.
