It was the summer of 2016 when I cleared my JEE Advance, paving the way for a future in engineering. With aspirations high and options aplenty, I found myself at IIT Gandhinagar, pursuing a degree in electrical engineering—a choice made with the hope of broadening my career prospects.

However, as the first two semesters passed, I couldn't shake the feeling that electrical engineering wasn't my true calling. Despite my parents' rationale of its versatility, my heart yearned for something different—something in the realm of computer science. The allure of lucrative job opportunities and high salaries in the field of CS wasn't lost on me.

My academic performance in the initial years didn't reflect my ambitions. With a modest CPI of around 7.5 and no scope for branch change, I found myself at a crossroads. Determined to explore my newfound interest, I began taking CS courses alongside my electrical engineering curriculum.

Yet, doubt lingered. A challenging Data Structures and Algorithms course in my third semester left me questioning my abilities. With a mere passing grade, I wondered if I had what it takes to succeed in this field. Discouraged, I opted out of CS courses in the subsequent semester.

But fate had other plans. During a second-year internship, I stumbled upon an opportunity that would change the course of my career—a chance to develop websites for college institutions. It was in those moments of coding and creating that I discovered my passion for web development.

From that pivotal moment, there was no looking back. Fueled by newfound purpose and determination, I immersed myself in the world of software engineering. Fast forward to today, and I stand as a senior software engineer at Enphase, alongside being a highly rated freelancer on Fiverr specializing in MERN stack development.

My journey from uncertainty to achievement has taught me valuable lessons—lessons I'm eager to share with aspiring software engineers. If you're someone who grapples with interview fears, struggles with CS concepts, or simply seeks guidance on your path to becoming a software engineer, I'm here to help.
