DOs before Resignation OR when serving Notice Period

If you are serving notice period OR preparing for Job Switch, here are some DOs to keep in mind: ๐Ÿ‘‡ ๐Ÿ‘‡ ๐Ÿ‘‡

1.  Ensure there is No PF information mismatch (Your Name, Fatherโ€™s Name, UAN, Account details etc.) and complete the necessary steps for transferring the PF balance from one employer PF account to another.

2.  Review your employment contract for any potential payments that may arise, such as relocation expenses, training cost recovery, notice pay, or any outstanding dues. If applicable, discuss reimbursement or notice buyout options with your new employer before joining.

3.  Manage your stock account and make arrangements to transfer or sell any equity you may have earned. Get clarification on vested and unvested units, Vesting schedule, Grant agreement and general stock plan rules.

4.  Collect your last 3 months salary payslip and final Tax computation statement.

5.  Obtain your Form 16 โ€“ Part A & B for previous and current financial year.

6.  Collect necessary contact details / emails of Payroll team, HR team and your Manager.

7.  Clarify the process and timeline for returning any assets, if you are working remotely.

8.  Retrieve any original documents that you may have submitted to your employer.

9.  Obtain a relieving, experience and settlement letter from your employer.

10. Ensure that you receive any gratuity owed to you (if tenure is more than 5 years).

11.  Collect Resignation acceptance email/letter or any email conversations related to resignation and notice period.

12. Transfer company medical/health plan to personal.

13. Collect and review the perquisite or non-salary benefit details and taxes that were deducted or paid for those on behalf of the employee (if applicable).
